Rainbow Fight
On Saturday, April 27, the cast and crew of “Rainbow Fight” entered into the annual Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild Middle School Play Competition. The WMS Dram Club was sent to Framingham to compete against six other schools. We earned three State Awards and “Rainbow Fight” went on to win the Gold Media!
The idea of “Rainbow Fight “was a year in the making, as it was conceived originally on the bus on the way home from the competition in 2012. From that point forward, the students involved in the Winthrop Middle School Drama Club took on this play and the challenges that faced them and accomplished their goal.
Thank you to all the students who worked so hard to make this play successful.

Health Office Announcement

Health Office Announcement
Grade 6 parents: You are being reminded that students entering grade 7 in September will need to have the following immunization up to date in order to start school on opening day.
The DPH requires: 2 Varicella (chicken pox) on file and a TD Booster ( tetanus booster). Please check with your primary provider before the end of the school year so arrangements can be made to have this completed. If at anytime you have current medical information from the doctor please send it in to the health office.
Grade 7 parents: Once the heights and weights of our grade 7 students are completed the data is calculated on a special format that yields results of BMI's and BMI percentiles. It actually shows how the students are in terms of healthy weight and questionable weight issues, either too heavy or not having enough weight.
This information is available in the health office.
Just as a reminder, being weighed is always voluntary and if students request not to be weighed then their wish is honored.
Grade 8 parents ( our current) from the health office.
It is important to make sure that your child has a current physical on file so that when he/she transition to the high school, public or private, the record will be up to date. The most important thing to have current is an updated physical exam. Having this information current will allow the students who plan to sign up for extracurricular activities such as sports or other programs will make the application process more efficient.
If you have any questions feel free to contact the nurse at the Mddle School.
